Project location
AWAK supplied continuous rooflights for a BAUHAUS commercial building in Växjö Sweden. The rooflight system was designed to provide extensive access to natural daylight, covering an area of almost 2 900 m2. Selected rooflight sections were equipped with 230 V electrically operated ventilation flaps, allowing natural ventilation of the rooms below. The installation was carried out in cooperation with Ventisol Brandsäventilator AB, a KERA GROUP sister company based in Sweden.
The project included:
Continuous rooflights
The main scope of the project was the installation of continuous rooflights, providing extensive natural daylight to the commercial building. The system was installed across the roof to maximise the amount of daylight reaching the interior spaces.
230 V ventilation flaps
Selected sections of the continuous rooflights were equipped with 230 V electric drive units. These electrically operated ventilation flaps allow the rooflight sections to be opened for natural ventilation of the rooms below, adding a ventilation function to the daylighting system.
Local installation support
The project was completed in cooperation with Ventisol Brandsäventilator AB, supporting the installation in Sweden.
The BAUHAUS Växjö project demonstrates how continuous rooflights can provide both natural daylight and controlled natural ventilation within a commercial building.
By integrating electrically operated ventilation flaps into selected rooflight sections, the system combines two important functions while maintaining a large area of natural daylighting.
The project demonstrates AWAK’s experience in designing and delivering large-scale continuous rooflight systems for commercial buildings. The combination of natural daylight and electrically operated ventilation flaps provides a practical, multifunctional roof solution tailored to the building’s requirements.
