Insulated Solid Roof Hatch

The AWAK roof hatch is a manually operated hatch that provides safe and permanent access to the flat roof - for service crews, maintenance of roof equipment, and emergency services. It is manufactured in dimensions ranging from 800 × 800 mm to 800 × 1500 mm, with a steel or PVC base, and a transparent cover that illuminates the staircase or the room below it, with a thermal transmittance coefficient of 1.1-2.5 W/m²K and resistance classes DL 750, UL 1500, and SB 300. Gas springs and a handle ensure easy opening and secure holding of the leaf in the open position.

Safe, permanent roof access

An easy-to-install and reliable access point providing access to the roof during inspections and maintenance of roof equipment, while simultaneously illuminating the top floor and staircases of multi-story buildings.

Steel or PVC base

Galvanized steel base with a minimum thickness of 1.25 mm, requiring insulation with mineral wool or 40 mm thick polystyrene, in a straight or slanted variant with a height of 150, 350, 500, and 750 mm; or a PVC base with a height of 200 mm (straight) or 150-300 mm (slanted), which does not require additional insulation.

PVC clip-on frame

A practical construction solution designed to simplify installation and ensure a reliable connection between the frame and the base.

Openable segment with aluminum frame

The operating segment, covered with transparent or milky (opal) version, in a flat or domed shape. Polycarbonate with a thickness of 21 and 27 mm achieves the BROOF(t1)/NRO class.

Manual opening with assistance

A manually opened hatch, optionally with gas springs and a handle - the leaf lifts easily and remains stable in the open position while exiting onto the roof.

Confirmed technical parameters

DL 750 - resistance to downward load up to 750 N/m²; UL 1500 - resistance to upward load up to 1500 N/m²; SB 300 - soft body impact resistance; thermal transmittance coefficient 1.1-2.5 W/m²K.

Roof access window base:

  • Made of galvanized steel sheet with a thickness of min. 1.25mm (standard: straight or slanted base with a height of 150, 350, 500 and 750mm. The base should be insulated with a layer of mineral wool or polystyrene foam with a thickness of 40mm.

  • Made of PVC (straight base with a height of 200mm or slanted base with a height of 150 or 300mm). The base does not require insulation.

Clamping frame:

The bases have special cut-outs in the corners, which, after installation and machining of the base, allow free press-on installation of the so-called PVC "clamping" frame.

Tilting segment:

The tilting segment consists of a hinged frame and a cover. Cover is made of cellular polycarbonate, solid polycarbonate or acrylic. Choose from two color options: transparent or milky. The surface can take the shape of a convex, dome-shaped (from acrylic or solid polycarbonate) and flat (from cellular polycarbonate). The roof hatch made of cellular polycarbonate can appear in Broof(t1)/fire retardant classification.


The frame is made of PVC or aluminum profile. It is protected around the perimeter with gaskets, which prevents water from entering the rooflight.

Drive:

Opening roof access windows to access the roof is done manually. To reduce the force required to open the cover and increase user comfort, gas springs and a handle are used

  • We make roof access windows in the range (80-150)x(80x150) cm

  • DL 750 - has a downward directed load resistance of up to 750N/m2

  • UL 1500 - has an upward load resistance of up to 1500N/m2

  • SB 300 - shows resistance to impact with a large soft body

  • 1.1-2.5W/m2K- the heat transfer coefficient for the entire product. The coefficient depends on the choice of cover and base

  • With a 21mm thick polycarbonate cover (2x10mm+ fire retardant fabric) and a 27mm thick polycarbonate cover (10+16mm + fire retardant fabric), the product qualifies as non fire spreading (fire retardant).

  • Possibility of attaching anti-drop handles to the roof hatch

  • Possibility to paint the base from the inside in any RAL color
